This bat is built in a 141 turn model that should be pretty easy for young batters to wield. As well, B45 does an excellent job of modifying the barrel diameter to be right around 2-1/4″ in thickness. This works really well for young players who may be using a wood bat for the first time (and who right be a little surprised by the slightly barrel-heavy feel that wood bats can sometimes present; especially when they are compared to an alloy or composite bat).

As well, B45 crafts the bat from birch. This is a movement away from the ash wood that has been used for generations & the maple wood that has become extremely popular in the past 20 years. Birch is really cool because it incorporates what many consider to be the best feature of both ash and maple. When you contact a baseball, there will be a bit of “flex” between the barrel and handle portions of the bat (similar to ash). As well, the barrel of the bat is solid and less prone to chipping (like maple).
